The Seattle Seahawks used a second half rally to get their second win in a row as they got past the St. Louis Rams 27-14. The Rams (1-10) have now lost their third straight game.The Seahawks (4-7) used a strong rushing performance from running back Justin Forsett who finished the game with 130 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. St. Louis Rams quarterback Kyle Boller finished with 282 yards passing and 1 touchdown, but 2 interceptions turned out to be crucial in St. Louis' loss.
The Seahawks, who were favored against St. Louis, had no problem in covering the 2 1/2 point spread they were handed according to the NFL Betting Odds.The Seahawks found the score board first with 7:59 remaining in the first quarter when Forsett scored on a 4 yard touchdown run to give Seattle a 7-0 lead. The Rams would respond early in the second period when Boller found Donnie Avery from 1 yard out to tie the score at 7. Seattle would reclaim the lead with 1:50 remaining until halftime on a 65 yard interception return for a touchdown by Josh Wilson. St. Louis would add a 55 yard field goal from Josh Brown with :04 left in the half to cut the Seahawks lead to 14-10.
The Seahawks would get the only points in the third quarter and they came on a 29 yard field goal from Olindo Mare.
Early in the fourth, Seattle would extend their lead on Forsett's second touchdown run of the game from 2 yards out to put the Seahawks ahead 24-10 and Mare would add his second field goal from 38 yards to put them up by 17 with 9:24 remaining. St. Louis would find the endzone a bit too late with just 44 seconds remaining in the game as Steven Jackson scored on a 1 yard touchdown run.The Rams out-gained the Seahawks in total yards by almost 100 yards, but two turnovers proved to be key in the loss.
St. Louis will try to end their three game losing skid as they travel to play Chicago on Sunday. The Seahawks will look to make it three in a row as they host San Francisco.
